A Sense of Balance

Sometimes the stresses of every day living build up and spill forth in the form of impatience, arrogance, irritability, depression, laziness, well... you get the picture. Stress is the SIXTH leading cause of death in the United States. StressFree.com

Here are some things that work for me... What do you do?

Take a deep breath....
Calgon take me away...
A warm sunny place....
The smell of a fresh baked pie in the oven...
Flannel sheets on a cold night...
A sky full of sunset colors spread across the water...
Taking a trip down memory lane with an old friend...
A walk on the beach...

Here's hoping you have a "less stress" day!

  1. My relaxation? Shoot something :-)
    either golf or guns...

Both require all the concentration my tired ol brain can handle :-)

Long range (>500 yard) shooting requires breathing control, patience, knowledge of your heartbeat and timing to fire at the right point in time. You can't think of anything else and even hit the target at those ranges.

  2. NFO - Got my Class A this summer, using a 22cal revolver... what fun! Don't own one yet... but there's always life after "kid going to college"... I've been looking at glocks and Rugers for handguns but haven't found one that fits in my hand very well. Still up in the air on a rifle... I like Winchesters... and a 38 spl by Taurus... would love to try one to see how it handles! 500 yds seems incredibly difficult... you must have been shooting for awhile and be very talented. I used to hunt possums in the orange groves of FL (many, many yrs ago) with an old double barrell shotgun that had a flashlight taped to the barrell. (Wasn't much left to identify after all was said and done). Never did much shooting after that.. save for a bottle or can target practice here and there with a borrowed 22 rifle. Come to think of it, it was very exhilarating and I'm sure I was quite stress free after nailing that Budweiser can a few times. (with the gun, silly)!
